Letting go...

Some of the best advice I got all year was "Fuck 'em!" It's funny how two little words can be so liberating. I have thought the very same thing, but I guess I needed to hear it from someone else. It is so much more fulfilling to love people that love you back.
RISK more than others think is safe...CARE more than others think is wise...DREAM more than others think is practical ....EXPECT more than others think is possible.

"Work" in progress!

We officially have an office now! Complete with an awesome green wall and hardwood flooring installed by us! :) Try not to be too jealous...

Luaus, banana pies and sun! We had such a wonderful time in Hawaii. There were so many things to do and certainly not enough time. We experienced a lot of "firsts" though. Avery's first airplane trip, snorkeling for Lew and the kids, and watching sea turtles bask in the sun were among my favorites! :)

Sue's memorial was wonderful. We couldn't have asked for a better day. As the sun rose on a beautiful beach off the beaten tourist path, we were able to laugh, cry and share wonderful memories of a truly amazing person! In a tidal pool, inhabited by a lone crab, there are 16 leis and a coconut floating in the water!

I got to spend time with family, not just my own little one, but with the huge family that I am so lucky to have through Lewis. It was truly an island takeover! I spent a long time sorting through the 650+ photos that I took. There a few amazing photos that sum up our trip perfectly. Farewell Hawaii, but not forever! There are too many fond memories to avoid you again!

The sweet smell of sawdust!

Our new little window is going in as I write this! It is the perfect addition to our construction project. It opens which is awesome...more light and fresh air will surround me. :) AND it is high enough that I don't have to see the neighbors! Can it get any better? Nope. The end of our office construction is near, with only one wall to paint, some floor to put down and some trim to finish it off! We will soon be the proud owners of a fantastic home office! Then off to the next project! ;)

Tales of Turning 30...

Well it's been a week since the "big" day and I have not been required to say it out loud yet. Having to say "I am 30" in response to the dreaded question "How old are you?" seems so weird! Am I different? I don't know...maybe. I have decided to do a few things differently, a little gift to myself and my family! I wonder if anyone will notice? ;)

While turning 30 wasn't nearly as scary as I had anticipated, I can't say that it is a welcomed milestone in my life just yet! I am sure over time it will grow on me. I am going to keep my eyes open for opportunities to slow time down, appreciate more, love more, and hopefully laugh more! Carpe Diem!

Look...it's a penguin!

Today was Avery's High Tea at school. Decked out in his tuxedo, Lewis served tea sandwiches and cookies to 36 starving kindergartners! :)
